Hi all, my name is Chris. This blog is going to be dedicated to living well and simply balancing my life as a mom. I am a 31-year-old happily married mother of 1 gorgeous little girl Vaya, 2 dogs, 1 cat and a cockatiel. Before having a human baby of my own, I frequently compare my animal mothering to human mothering, at first by accident and later because I think it is hilarious. I tend to keep these comparisons in the family as some may take offense. Now that I have a human baby of my own I do notice other people with animals doing the same thing and I fully support you all…having your cat wake you up in the middle of the night is similar….I will always see the humour.
I am a Respiratory Therapist working in the Operating Room part-time.

My Partner
My husband, Ry, and I have been married since July 2008. He is my favorite person. He makes me laugh until my belly hurts, feel completely and totally loved and makes life so much fun. He is one of those people…you know the ones that are just genuinely good people. He is supportive in everything I do and I am so lucky to have him in my life. I didn’t think I could possible love Ry more…and then he became a Dad, the best Dad.

Our Daughter
Vaya was born on June 1, 2010 and is our world.
Our Furry Babies
We have 2 dogs. Finnie and Ellie. Fin is a 6-year-old pug. She is wonderful and hilarious. Yes, she does snore. Ellie is a 4-year-old mix…mix sounds more generous than mut. We rescued Ellie from a local rescue organization when she was just over 1 year. She is a perfect addition to our family. She is playful and so loving.

Casey is our black cat. She is the grandma of our house at 13 years old. Wow time flies. I got Casey from the SPCA when she was just a little baby. I love her for many reasons but most of all because she is just herself. She wants what she wants when she wants it and isn’t afraid to let you know it. I find that so refreshing and honest.

Beta is our 8-year-old cockatiel. It was Ry and my 2nd anniversary of dating when we got her hence the name. Beta is a fantastic lesson in patience but we love her, squawking and all.
